ABOUT MARIBEL / MY GREEN LADY



Her journey in the “Food, Nutrition and Wellness World” began when she was a child, raised in a family of mom, dad and two sisters.  Mom fed the family mainly fish, rarely meat or Chicken, mostly fresh food, lots of fruits and veggies. She would take fruits and veggies as a school lunch. No canned or fried food ever!. They would always  have “agua fresca” which is fruit blended with water to accompany our meals.
Her interest and path was really determined  at 11, when her grandmother Juanita invited her to the movies to watch “Soylent Green”, a “futuristic” movie that showed the economic and social situation in a near future where food was scarce, cities were overpopulated and the government fed “soylent green” to the masses, this “food” was a sort of a cracker made from old people, so humans were eating old humans, the “raw material” was obtained from retiring homes and hospitals. 

She was shocked and profoundly impacted and she promised herself to always know what was on her food, she started to read labels, every single label. She memorized all the ingredients of her grandmother’s pills, she took about 12 different colored pills and  would read over and over again  all the components, the same with foods, drinks and almost anything that has something written on it.
Later , she graduated as a Food Biochemist, when finished, she realized she wanted to know more about the ocean and its resources, so she studied a masters in Sea Food Processing, after graduating she became a full time teacher for the department of Food Science at Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey, Campus Guaymas. 
Her courses were:
  a. Food Processing and its laboratory,
  b. Sea Food processing and its laboratory, 
  c. Sensory Evaluation and its laboratory, 
  d. Food Microbiology and its laboratory 
  e.  “Food Chemistry” as a substitute teacher, her most cherished subjec.

She completed the following Workshops as well: “Solar Dehydration”, “Teaching techniques”, “Flavor and Fragances”, “Learning Techniques,” “Lobster Rearing”, "Develpment of Thinking Skills I and II", "Industrial Fermentation Processes", "Biotechnology".
Worked as a research professor for to the Fishing Industry: the Sardine and Tuna industry.
For the tuna Industry she completed a  Workshop in “Food Extrusion” in Texas A&M,  so they could utilize the tuna by products and create something commercial and nutritious. 
All the while her interest in Nutrition grew stronger and stronger, she was working with the type of industry that is one of the main providers of protein to the diet so this was always on her mind and little by little she got deeper and more curious. She was one of the weird who chose to eat whole foods, avoid processed foods, eat very few meat and Chicken.
Later on she worked on a meat producing company, they would sacrifice the cattle in most hygienic conditions, cut and packaged it on controlled atmospheres so it could be sold as “fresh” in the other side of the World. It was a very compelling operation.
They would also produce natural casings for the cured meat industry, this casings are the intestines of beef, veal, etc..
She started feeling this was not her cup of tea.
As a part of her journey, she started a business that created tea blends, tisanes. It produced fruit, herb and flower blends with typical mexican ingredients, the name is “Girathe” meaning: “the tea that makes you spin.” She learned from her grandmother Chelito a lot about herbs so this was the time to apply that into her life.
Later on she decides to put her brain to rest and decided to start exploring the body so she became a Yoga Instructor.
She served as a Nutrition professor for the school of Nurses of the Red Cross in Ensenada, Baja California.
Taught workshops in Nutrition in CECUT in Tijuana, Baja California.
Later her husband had a heart attack and that was “the” turning point, from that point on they decided to become 100% vegetarian, raw and alive.
They went to a Healing and Detoxifying Center where they met lots of sick people, and saw, experienced and learned about the body´s own healing capacity, they were so surprised that she became passionate about the healing through nutrition, it was a totally new and different level of nutrition, wellness and health. Overall, a totally new level of awareness.
Her husband got off all the medication that was slowly killing him and completely recovered, he is 100% well, sound, healthy and getting better and better.
From that point on she found Gabriel Cousens who became Maribel´s spiritual guide and mentor on this path and was enrolled on his “Masters in raw Food Nutrition” program where she graduated with honors because of her thesis work on “The antioxidant and Healing Properties of  a blend of Marine Algae.”
In the process, she had to "unlearn" and re-structure all that she had learned in her graduate and post-graduate Studies. Sifting the information so the remaining could fit into the new model of life and nutrition.
She was offered a position as a counselor for the same program and today, she is  in charge of 3 modules for this program.
She and her sister wrote a book called “Las Zonas” (Maria Isabel Arizpe and Paula Arizpe), about Nutrition and Consciousness, it takes the reader by the hand to their personal journey of self Discovery so they can become aware of their strengths, weaknesses and tendencies at a physical, energetic and spiritual level. It has questionnaires, activities, recipes. It is a fun and simple book. It is written in Spanish. It's about finding your own, unique and individual zone, we all have our "own" zone as we all have our unique DNA.

Currently she lectures and teaches Workshops in Nutrition, Nutrients, Toxicity, Wellness, Healing. She has a practice as a Nutrition Consultant, Health & Nutritional Coach and Quantum Reflex Analysis Practitioner.

Quantum Reflex Analysis (QRA)
This technique helps promote rapid recovery. One of the first steps to health is to restore the bio field. When the body's energetic field, or biofield, is disrupted or chaotic, it's unable to function as efficiently as it is designed.
The body wants to be in harmony, too! Researchers have learned to interpret some of the signals the body sends and if we pay attention, the body will guide us in restoring equilibrium.  Quantum Reflex Analysis, or QRA, is an outstanding technique that helps us to tap into the body and to see what areas are weak and in need of support.
Like musicians in a symphony, our tissues, organs and glands can harmonize through measurable frequencies that are different from one another yet in sync together. In addition to uncovering imbalances within the bio field, QRA also helps uncover organs and glands that are weak as well as pinpoint specific nutrients that can re-balance these weaknesses. With these things in place, your body has a greater capacity to heal itself.
The technique associated with QRA is the Bi-Digital O-Ring, a university-proven muscle testing system.
